What Do You Think?

So last night Mr. Daddy stopped by a local grocery store to pick up some Sam Adams beer.

As he was walking away from the beer section, a guy standing nearby said, out of the blue, "That's a really good beer. And the roofers like it too."

Huh? The roofers? What in the sam hill?

Mr. Daddy got the vague feeling that the guy was attempting to pick him up.

What do you think? Is "roofers" some kind of code?

That's a puzzler. Next time I need some roof work done, I'll be sure to have some Sam Adams on hand.

I'm going to have to just be all kinds of naive and say the roofers just did a new roof on the store and preferred that particular brand of refreshment.

I actually think Karen is on to something. Roofers are notorious for drinking on the job. No, really, they are. Nothing says "let's get stumbling drunk" like working on top of a roof all day.

"The roofers like it, too?" What? I don't know what that is supposed to mean. But then again, I'm a total old lady as of late. I'm not in with the cool kids anymore.

Besides the only time Mr. Wicke was picked up on (by another man) he just send an email that said something to the effect of, "I think you're really hot...I notice you wear a ring...I don't know what that means...If you're interested email me back." Who doesn't know what that means?? See that's a whole different kind of "What??"

By the way, I was out of town when you posted bout Bubba's bully. You did great. The teacher's need to be aware, especially that it is an ongoing problem. And you attacked the other front by teaching Bubba what he can do for himself. Circle the wagons on all sides. Doesn't that stuff stink??

ooh, ooh. I just noticed I did one of my own pet peeves, and I can't ignore it. Teachers, not teacher's. The English teacher in me just can't let that go. I'm not usually obsessive (or possessive, hah!) I swear! No, really! Believe me!

Well, it IS good beer. However, I prefer my workmen sober.

Ooooh! The old "roofer's line"! Yeah! A good one!
No. I have no idea what that could have possibly meant. But, doesn't it make you want to go find a roofer and ask? I think I will....

Maybe roofers like it? Like it's a collective requirement to enjoy Sam if you are a roofer.

Well I'd be more concerned by that comment if I were in the process of having some roof work done:)

Since I'm a little late (oh the week I've had) I was hoping the mystery would be solved!

But your husband has GREAT taste in beer. :) Bonus points if you call it Sam Adams Lag-ah!

consulted my hubby whose college roommate was gay and he's stumped, too. I tried asking a roofer, but his English was bad and my Spanish was worse. Sorry.

Maybe email Sam Adams? :D
