What is that, you ask? Why that, my dear friends, is Victory for Madame Queen day! Mr. Daddy is coming home! And he doesn't know it yet, but when he walks in the door -- TAG! You're it! And I'm running for the car to head out to....to....heck! who cares?! Somewhere. Anywhere I can be ALONE. Aloooone! Alllooonnneee! Bwahahahaha!
Frankly, I don't see how single parents do it. Kudos to you, Mom! And all you other single parents out there. Don't get me wrong. The kids have really been absolute angels this week. Very little arguing. Very few tantrums. But good grief, if I hear Mommy one more time I seriously think I might lose it. There's just been nobody to hand them off to. Nobody to pick up my slack when my strength, my resolve, were flagging.
Oh, and it wasn't the end of the world yesterday after all. The snow didn't stick and it didn't even last very long. It hasn't really snowed here in about 4 years, so when I snowed twice in one week, I was sure it was the first sign of the impending apocalypse!

Run for the hills, Madame Queen, run for the hills. Also, don't forget to "forget" your cell phone. In order for a game of tag to really be fun, you have to several miles away AND unreachable.
I do love a good game of well earned TAG! Hopefully wherever you end up you will find some peace and quiet. And if anyone calls you 'mom' just go 'head and punch them in the face. It's okay.
I am picturing you at a restaurant with real napkins, blissfully aloooone and eating something scrumptious with a large, alcoholic drink (not enough to impair your driving back to your loved ones!)
Also, I am afraid those JS shoes and I were absolutely meant for each other AND worth the wait! Despite the fact that the little black tip on the heel broke the very first day I wore them and now they have to go straight to the shoe doctor! Neither wind, nor snow, nor sleet, nor knees that contain not one whit of cartilage SHALL KEEP ME FROM MY BELOVED HEEEEELS!!!!!!! hehehe
have a most wonderfulest time, deary.
I so hear you! I know when my husband is working long hours there are times when I just want to run away. I have to remind myself that I'm the adult.
I hope you enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself! Come back and tell us all what it's like, will ya? :)
That's how I felt last summer when my hubby went on "sabbatical" last summer. I couldn't wait until he got home. You are right; how do single moms do it? Ah well... enjoy!
I frequently have to change my name around here...or limit my children to 10 "mommy's" a day. After that they have to start using "daddy".
Enjoy your quiet time! Im jealous...
Why don't they get how far a little acknowledgment and validation would get them?
