If It Ain't One Damn Thing, It's Another

Now let me go on record to say that I'm not a big fan of the word "ain't," but sometimes it just expresses a feeling so succinctly and no other word will do. This is one of those times.

In other words, Punkin's sick. I'm well -- thanks for all the good wishes. I really don't even know what was wrong with me. I had a little chest congestion and just felt plain lousy most of Saturday night and Sunday morning. I thought I was coming down with Mr. Daddy's flu, but by Sunday afternoon I was feeling a mite perkier.

Punkin' on the other hand, well, she's not feeling so hot. They called me from school around 2:00 and said she'd thrown up twice. And since then she's thrown up twice more. Ah, good times, good times.

Anyhoo, I have a question I want to pose to y'all. And sorry guys, but this one is for the ladies -- if there ARE any guys out there reading this. If there are, if you are of the male persuasion, you might just want to click on out of here.

Once a month, it gets to be that time. You know. THAT time. And not only do I feel fat and bloated and miserable, but I also lose any ideas for a blog post that I might have ever had. In fact, I sort of start to hate blogging.

I didn't tie it together at first. It just seemed like every now and then I would get really burned out on blogging. Couldn't think of a single thing to write about. Wondered why in the heck I ever thought this was a good idea.

Then, the next month I started feeling that way again. Same thing the next month. It was about then that I put two and two together.

Does PMS kill your creativity too? Has anybody done a study on this? Is there a Creativity Motrin than I can take?

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

I'm sorry about Punkin - hope she's feeling better soon. It's that time of year.

My time is so random it's crazy. Some months I'm way TOO creative and go into hyper mode doing and cleaning and creating. Other months I just want to crawl in a hole, curl up in the fetal position and die quickly. There's no reason to it.

I hope Punkin is feeling better soon, and that the vomit monster leaves immediately.

I'll have to start paying attention. I tend to go through "bored of blogging" spells (I'm in one now, as a matter of fact), but I've never tried to tie it to anything. I'll pay more attention.

I've had a few times where it seemed whatever I wanted to write sounded so depressing. I never put the two together though. I'll have to pay attention next time around.

I hope Punkin is better soon. Poor baby.

Well...since it hasn't been "that time" for me since I started blogging (preggers and bf) I can't answer. However I do know that my blogging goes in MAJOR waves. I either want to do it all the time or not at all. And the times when I don't want to blog? It TOTALLY stresses me out!! (i.e. Right Now)

If I were you, Id just let yourself have a break when your creativity dries up...it will probably be more enjoyable that way.

I can't concentrate on put coherent sentences together during "that time of the month." (sigh)

I hope Punkin is better by the time you read this.

Hmmm. Still pissed at my uterus after last month, will have to pay more attention.

I either get totally uncreative or I want to write a diatribe on everything that annoys me (which is usually everything). However, I lose my ability to spell and or type correctly, which in turn p-o's me even more!

In nutshell...you're not alone.

I'm glad you mentioned the PMS/boredom link. Cause, now that you mention it, that might be when I have the same thing. I hate freaking Aunt Flo. One more relative I wish would just go belly up.

oh no! I hope Punkin feels better right away!!! Puking is the worst!!!!

I know that I hate everything and can't function like a human for that 4 or 5 days or so. You can imagine my displeasure when that biological rhythm started back up the day before my birthday and then two weeks later, a few short days before Valentine's day. Yep. Fun.
But I'm more than happy to blame my lower alcohol tolerance on the blood loss, along with all the brain farts I have during that time period. And yes, it seems that along with my good mood goes my meager amounts of creativity. I'm lucky if I can construct a decent dinner for the family, let alone string together words into sentences! ;)

I like to save blog titles--when I got sick I saved some like Blog The Pain Away and As I Blog Dying--but unfortunately I'm one of those people who can make a blog entry about pretty much ANYthing--I think in blog.
But YOU, period or no period, must not stop blogging! your post about Superman is still one of the single finest posts I have ever read. The BlogWorld needs YOU, Madame Queen!!!
hope everyone at your house is well soon, sorry that P is tossing her cookies.

I just found your blog, but I had to comment on this one. I started my blog before becoming preggers and, let me tell you, pregnancy BEHEADED my creativity. Killed it dead. My daughter is 6 months old and I've only recently gotten back into stuff.

You know I'll have to start paying more attention to this myself. My time of the month seems to be all over the place anyway and that in itself gets me pretty down.
