American Idle

I'm not feeling very creative tonight. I think I'm using up all my creativity at work right now. I've designed several invitations for upcoming events and am in the process of putting together our twice yearly newsletter. My brain is beat.

I forgot to mention the coolest thing about the Pilates that I went to yesterday. It's free and I did it on my lunch hour. A woman that I work with is Pilates certified and she teaches a class in the basement twice a week for employees. I've never been before but I've really been suffering with lower back pain recently and I think strengthening my core will help. So I went. And I'm going tomorrow.

Is anybody watching American Idol this season. I'm sort of half watching it --- literally. I'm only watching the boys. In all honesty I'm not a big fan of female singers in general and none of the girls have done much for me so far, at least in the clips I've seen.

I first watched American Idol the season of Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee, Chris Daughtry, et al. I think we can all agree that Chris really won that season. And I don't know if it's because that season was my first or if they were really that good, but the rest of the seasons have not measured up for me.

But this year, I've got an early favorite. Jason Castro. Did you see this last night:

That voice is just heaven. He's so different from anything we've seen on the last couple of seasons. And he's got such a hippy trippy vibe that I just can't help but like him. I'd kind of like to shrink him down and put him in my pocket and bring him out now and then during the day. I'd just put him on the edge of my desk and let him sing me a little song. His phrasing soooort of puts me in mind of Bob Dylan. I don't know how he'll fare once we hit the theme weeks (Bon Jovi, anyone?) but I can't wait to see how he does. Does anyone else have a favorite?

I'm way guilty of watching this show for every season.

That little David kid - I just wanna call him up and put him in my pocket and take him out to sing to me when I'm in a bad mood - he's just so damn cute.

I don't like any of the girls either. Elliot Yamin is still my favorite Idol contestant of all time. His album is fantastic.

I don't watch much TV. It's a sad tribute to my stubbornness.

I think I caught exactly one episode and that was while they were still all sucky. I would feel like maybe I'm missing something, but I'm probably not. :-)

I'm digging Jason as well, but I really like little ol' David Archuletta. His rendition of Imagine was genuius!!!

But, of course, now that I'm on my tv diet, oh what to do?!

I haven't been watching. I watched for a little while but I'm just not in to it for some reason. Maybe because it's a FIVE HOUR commitment each week.

The first season we watched was last season so I'm not a loyal Idol fan. I might start watching when the pool gets smaller and I can remember them all enough to have a fav.

Hi, love your blog. I'm a hot and cold Idol fan, and this season I'm loving it. Great competition, but my favorite guy is David Archuleta. He's amazing! I'm also a pretty big fan of Brooke White, she's got something unique about her.

I haven't been watching. Actually I haven't watched for a couple of seasons now.

I love his voice. He sings that song beautifully.

Jason is my favorite too. If you don't want to watch all the time, you can just read my recaps. I'm an American Idol dork. I take notes.

I haven't watched but I do kind of enjoy the recap on the morning news about Paula and whether or not she was sober.

Oh, I so love little David. I'm with andreanna - I want to bring him home with me so that he can sing to me every day. He's such a cute kid!

Hate to burst your bubble, but we don't all agree that Chris won. In fact, he didn't

Interesting, Anon, no one even mentioned Chris Daughtry!!!

No I don't agree..TAYLOR HICKS won season 5. No matter how many times in your mind to say differently, Fact is Fact. America voted. Taylor got the most = The Winner Period.

Yes, technically Taylor won, but who still has a record deal? Chris. Ergo, he wins.

I don't watch Idol, but I'm a huge fan of the women caterwaulers. Love them so much more than men for some reason.

Taylor will make more CDs,tour and be happy and in the meantime he still owns his own soul. Ergo he wins.
He was and always will be the winner.
